A private journal for the people you're seeing. Keep notes on each prospect, log every date while it's fresh, and ask Amie, an advisor who has actually read your notes, before the next one.
Heartlog is a personal journal, not a social network and not a dating app.
Prospects, dates, memories, photos, and daily entries live in your own account,
and nobody else can see them.
Amie is optional. Ask a question and Amie answers from your recent dates,
prospects, and entries, not from generic advice. Turn Amie off in Settings and
the journal works without it.
Built for people who want to date with intention: remember the details, notice
the patterns, and decide with a clear head. Also works after you've found
someone, with a committed-relationship mode. For adults 18 and over.
What Heartlog does
Keep track of who you're seeing.
A profile for each prospect: how you met, where things stand, what you want to remember. When it ends, move them to the Graveyard instead of forgetting.
Log the date while it's fresh.
Upcoming and past dates on one calendar, with a note before and a reflection after. Add photos, and get a monthly recap of how the month went.
Ask Amie, who has read your notes.
“How did my last date go?” “What should we do for a second date?” Amie answers from your journal. Optional, and can be turned off.
Keep going once it turns into something.
Switch to committed mode. Track quality time, save questions to ask, and watch your story build in one timeline.
Also in the free journal
Daily journal. Write an entry to process the day, not just the dates.
Timelines. Your dating journey as one chronological story, for singles and for couples.
Shareable cards. Turn a date or a monthly recap into a card you can text a friend. You choose what's on it; names and details can be hidden.
Weekly community polls. Vote on a dating question and see anonymous results from other Heartlog users. Optional.
Third-date check-in. A short prompt to help you decide whether to keep seeing someone.
Your data, your call. Export everything as JSON or delete your account from Settings. Day and night modes.

Questions people ask
What does Amie see?
When you ask Amie something, your message and limited context from your journal (recent dates, prospects, entries) are sent to OpenAI to generate the reply. Heartlog does not save or log the chat, and data sent through the OpenAI API is not used to train their models. You can turn Amie off in Settings and the journal works without it. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Is my journal private?
Yes. Heartlog is a personal journal, not a social network. Nobody else can see your entries. Your data is stored in your own account on Firebase (Google Cloud), is never sold or shared with third parties, and is not used to train AI models. You can export everything as JSON or delete your account from Settings at any time.
Is Heartlog free?
Yes. The journal is free to download and use. New accounts also get a small number of free Amie insights. After that, Amie is the only paid part: a one-time pack of 20 insights for $3.99, or Unlimited Amie for $6.99 a month or $39.99 a year.
How do I cancel Unlimited Amie?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select Heartlog, and tap Cancel Subscription. If you cancel during a free trial you're not charged. The journal keeps working either way.
Is Amie a therapist?
No. Amie gives dating and relationship guidance only. Amie is not a licensed therapist, counselor, or medical professional, and Heartlog is not a substitute for professional care. If you have health or mental health concerns, please talk to a qualified provider.
Why I built this
I'm Trevor Nogues. I'm fascinated by interpersonal connection and psychology, and by whether technology can make our relationships better instead of noisier. Dating apps get a bad rap, so I wanted to build something for the other side of the swipe: a private place to date with intention and remember how you actually felt.
It worked on me. Since building Heartlog I met my partner, and we've been together for almost a year. Heartlog is a solo project. If something is off, email me at heartlogdatingjournal@gmail.com.
