Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Meep Me ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Meep Me mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, and any profile details you choose to provide.
- Usage analytics. We collect information about how you interact with the App so we can understand engagement and improve the product. This includes events such as signing in, sending or viewing a meep, adding a friend, opening the inbox, and changing settings, along with session duration, screen views, and your account identifier so these events can be associated with your account. We collect this data through Google Firebase Analytics (see Section 9). We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.
- Device information and crash logs. We collect device identifiers, operating system version, app version, language preferences, and diagnostic data (including crash logs) to maintain reliability and security.
- Content you create. Messages, posts, and other content you submit through social features of the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App and its social features.
- Authenticate users and secure accounts.
- Improve, personalize, and expand the App based on usage patterns.
- Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- Other users. Content you post through social features may be visible to other users as designed by the App.
- Service providers. With vendors who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. Currently this includes Google Firebase (authentication, cloud database, file storage, push notifications, and analytics) and Apple (push notification delivery via APNs).
- Legal requirements. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Meep Me, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 6).
5. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. You can also delete your account from within the App.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than the one in which you reside. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers as required by applicable law.
9. Third-Party Services
The App may contain links to or integrations with third-party services. Their practices are governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. Specifically:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, and Analytics) — provided by Google LLC. We use Firebase to run the App's backend and to measure how the core features are used. - Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — used to deliver push notifications to your device, governed by the Apple Privacy Policy .
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
